Greetings: My name is Interim Pastor, Mark A. Baker, a 2005 Master of Divinity graduate of Western Seminary in Portland, OR. I was ordained by Lents Baptist Church in October 2010. By God's grace, I am currently ministering at Western Seminary full-time in the area of Distance Learning (Instructional Support Coordinator - Global Learning). I enjoy traveling on the weekends with my family and preaching at churches in Oregon and Washington. Currently, I am based in Portland, OR. I live with my wife and two children. It is our desire to be used by God to help God's people to know Christ and be encouraged in Christ through the expository preaching of the Word. Who do I preach for? I typically preach as a guest speaker, for pastors on vacation, ministry trips, and for emergency situations. I also preach for churches looking for a new preaching pastor providing pulpit supply & Intentional Interim pastor supply in Oregon and Washington State.

What and how do I preach? Faithful biblical expository preaching is needed in our churches today. God has placed upon my heart a calling to preach and teach His Word. I preach to fulfill the calling and gifting God has placed upon my life and enjoy preaching and sharing what God is doing in and through the lives of others. I am a strong advocate of preaching the Word of God through Christ-Centered, Gospel-Focused, and Cross-Pointing expository preaching that is interesting, engaging, culturally relevant, challenging, and fun. The teaching of the text determines the message. The expositor accurately expounds the message so that others can hear, understand, and apply the truths of the text to their lives.
